DI President Dr. Widad Akrawi at 2008 BMS

Defend International (DI) had been accredited to participate in the UN Third Biennial Meeting of States, in New York to consider the implementation of the Programme of Action to prevent, combat, and eradicate the illicit trade in small arms and light weapons in all its aspects, which was approved by Member States in 2001.

DI represents the voices and experiences of civil society in the MENA region.
